Faith works by God's
Love, so we need to understand what is is
and how to love others in the same way in order to grow our faith and
receive our blessings.
If your
faith doesn't seem to be working, it could be because you haven't
understood
the "inner workings" or "root" of Biblical faith. Although
God has given us the benefit of Kingdom living and
his Wealth Plan
for financial growth, many Christians can't seem to rise above their
debt or
money problems. Year after year their financial situation
only gets
worse. Let's find out why.
Step No. 1 from the Teen
Wealth
Plan Study
for example, tells us that we need to plant faith seeds for the money
or
desires that we want to obtain or achieve. But without
understanding how
God's love works, we won't have the faith to water and germinate those
seeds
because Galatians 5:6 tells us that "faith works by love." Thus, our
crop of financial growth or whatever else we may want will die even
before it
breaks through the ground.
In order to prepare your ground for a "healthy crop" of whatever it
is you need or want before you pray the "prayer
of faith,"
you must learn how to
free your heart of "sin consciousness" which many Christians have.
Walking in God's love begins with loving yourself
God's way.
Not doing this will keep your faith and prayers
efforts from working
on your behalf.
This doesn't mean that God is withholding your request.
Instead your mind
will condemn you with every bad thing you've done as long as
you let
it. This can be especially true of teens who easily blame
themselves for
everything and feel emotional, being sometimes very dramatic about a
situation.
Drama is not scriptural and will only keep one in an
emotional state
rather than a "FAITH" STATE. This type of thinking is a bad
habit, but it can be fixed with a little time and effort.
First of all, lets determine what "sin consciousness"
is
from a Biblical point of view. The verse below clearly
defines it
and describes what will happen to you when you no
longer suffer from
self-condemnation. Please read below:
I
John
3:20-22
20. For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than
our heart, and
knoweth all things. 21. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not,
then have
we confidence toward God. 22. And whatsoever we
ask, we receive of
him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are
pleasing in
his sight.
Sin consciousness is thinking about our sins throughout the day,
causing us to
live in the past. Matthew 6:34 says that we are to
live for
"today," not the past or the future. We can certainly plan
for
the future, but we can never go back to the past. It is dead
to us.
So it is a fruitless endeavor to think about what we have
done
and how we can change things.
God doesn't want us to be "sin conscious" because thinking about
sinning all day will actually cause us to sin more and it will create
guilt and
fear within us. It will also push us into dead works to earn our way
into God's
grace. We get into God's grace not on our own merit, but
through the work
of Jesus Christ on the cross.
As we concentrate on our mistakes instead of on our forgiveness, it
will
negatively affect our faith and cause us to feel unworthy or blemished.
Here is
what you must do in order to make a complete 180 degree turn
around right
now -- this very minute!
Right now forgive yourself of every mistake and sin you've ever
committed, no
matter how horrible you think any sin might be. Gods love is
not like our
love. It is unconditional, so He forgives you immediately once
you ask and
He never remembers it again.
You can also be "sin conscious" of other people's sins.
People
say things like, "I forgive him, but I'll never forget what he did to
me." This is not complete forgiveness by God's standard of love.
We
must also forget. Doing this, therefore, will also help you do
the same
for yourself. Do this and it will Otherwise our
hearts will keep us
from having strong faith for answered prayer.
Forgetting sins that God has forgiven will cause you to
experience Gods
love in action for you. You should practice this
for others.
Inner Cleansing
Forgive yourself by going before God and asking Him to forgive every
sin you've
ever committed in the name of Jesus Christ. You don't have to
remember
them all or name them, just ask God to forgive everything. Take it by
faith
that He has forgiven you. This opens the door to answered prayer
because God
tells us to forgive or we will not be forgiven (Mark 11:25).
Now, whenever you sin again, immediately ask God for forgiveness and
receive it
at that moment. Keep your heart free and you will keep the
channel of
blessing open between you and God. Remember that every time
you
concentrate on what you don't want or a sin that you've committed, you
will actually
act on those thoughts. This will cause you to remain in the
dark instead
of God's light, even though you know the truth of God's Word.
Galatians
5:6
6.
For in Jesus Christ neither
circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which
worketh
by love.
Make no
mistake, faith works by love--Gods love and if you want God's
Wealth Plan to
work for you, you need to walk in His love, not the type of
love that comes
by your own understanding.
