It's also important to note that faith can't be developed sufficiently if we don't use scripture to prove that what we want is God's will. If we're not sure about what God has given us then we will be filled with doubt and fear.

What is an affirmation?

It's a statement of belief that is spoken or silently muttered to one's self to build faith for a need, desire, physical, mental or spiritual change. If you're a Christian, it's important to use scripture for affirmation creation.

What proof confirms this statement?

According to Proverbs 4:10 (see verse below), we're told to hear God's Word with the promise that the days or years of our lives shall be many. This establishes that we are to make confessions of God's Word for success.

Proverbs 4:10  Proverbs 4:10 Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word.

This verse states that faith for what we desire comes by hearing. Thus, we use positive confessions or affirmations for greater faith because it is a spiritual law that what we hear and speak will become a reality as we continue to hear, confess and also act upon specific words. We can also have faith for those things which are negative as well, so we have to watch what we hear and speak.
