This article focuses on the discovery and development of a business idea or theme in a way which will give life to a small home business in the beginning stages.  The discovery method is founded upon one's wisdom, experience and enjoyment -- not by rushing into just any business.  We can easily rush into business opportunities which promise over-night riches, but the truth is that there are no short cuts to business success (visit Home Business Scams).

It is never wise to rush into anything important.  If you don't take the time to peacefully discover and develop a business idea that is right for you, you might take the wrong direction that will either discourage you or cost you time and money.  Nothing is ever wasted, so you can always learn from your mistakes, but why not start out right from the beginning if you can?  

When I first took a leap toward creating a home business, I rushed and took a wrong direction which depleted my financial resources at that time.  I had to wait a few years to begin again, but I had also learned how to get started in a way that I knew with all of my heart would work--and it did with an overwhelming success from day one!

So what did I do differently?  I chose a few ideas, studied them, and then applied a home business idea formula which I had developed.  I call it my home business idea formula based upon God's guidance: 

"Pray - Trust - Wait - Receive!"

Seek God, Then Believe By Faith For The Answer 

Here's how my Home Business Idea Formula works:  

Pray to ask God for guidance; trust that He will answer you; wait peacefully for His answer and believe you have received it while you are waiting.  It's that simple!

When you're new at learning to be guided by God, you'll find there is usually a time of waiting to find clarity. So don't expect to immediately receive your answer or specific guidance. It can come quickly, but don't give up if it doesn't. Remain thankful and excited. 

To help me through this type of experience or to speed it up, I take a little time to write about my situation. It helps to bring more clarity. 

For instance, when my children were growing up, I wanted to create a home business to stay at home with them. As I have already said, I jumped into my first try without any planning because I wasn't sure exactly what do do.  Later, I took the time to work with God.  I began writing in a journal about why I wanted to work at home and what I enjoyed doing.  Once I discovered what to do, I created a business plan to help me succeed. 

At the time I was new to faith, but I took it to heart. I trusted God for an idea and in short time He helped me develop my home business idea and find a way to get it to the right people who wanted to purchase what I had.  It was all a learning experience which I hope will in some way help others by sharing it here.  

My idea came in the way of creating and selling crafts at shows because I had always enjoyed them. Not long after I began, I got a new money idea because selling crafts wasn't too lucrative and I always gave away so much of my work. 

To solve both of those problems, I decided to create, write and distribute craft books of all the projects I had created that were a success. The idea was a financial hit because I researched the best means by which I could promote my work and sell it. At that time I used magazine ads. 

I ended up enjoying writing more than creating crafts. So I accomplished three goals that filled my passion. I was able to work from home, make a great income, and continue with my art and writing. Those same books are still bringing me an income through my Craft and Christmas website at: Year-Round-Christmas-Preparation.com.  It gives me an opportunity to express my artistic side. 

When I first began my home business there were a number of people who made fun of me because they thought it was foolish to work from home and be with my children all day long, but that was what I wanted. So for me, my home business idea was a dream come true.  I never criticized mother's who did work, so I don't know why there was so much opposition to my dream, but I didn't let anyone's opinion of me stand in my way.  

I loved not rushing around in the mornings, getting stuck in traffic, paying a fortune to daycare, and being concerned that I couldn't always be there for my children.  I was able to make sure that my children wouldn't get on drugs as they got older and that they grew up with a good value system.  I was there for them and I loved it all! 

So keep in mind that not everyone is going to be happy for your success. Some people have a need to make others feel badly, but you don't have to let them. As long as you're doing what you desire, it doesn't matter what anyone thinks. 

What you need to dwell upon is the fact that you can do anything you desire to do. I proved that with my business and so can you with your own home business idea! 

Experience Helpful, But Not Necessary

I certainly wasn't experience nor did I have an education in business and marketing when I began my home business. An education will be great if you have one, but it isn't necessary.  If you want an education, but can't afford it, you can always grow your home business to help you afford the cost as an idea.  

Did I know how to create art and craft projects when I began? Crafts yes. Art No!  I taught myself to paint and sculpt and then I taught others to do the same. I also painted oil and acrylic portraits for people and earned a great deal of money from that as well. 

Did I know how to market my work when I began? No! 

Did I know how to write when I began to create books? No! 

All you need is an interest and your creativity will take off with it. God is the unlimited source of everything we desire, so as you trust in Him, the Holy Spirit will guide you in the correct directions. It's up to you to listen and take what belongs to you through Jesus Christ. So there you have it. He will help you develop products or anything you need!  If you need added education or training, God will help you get what you need.

Always tell yourself you have everything you need to perpetuate success because it's true. Put your confidence in the principle that God will infinitely supply whatever you want. And when you come up against something difficult, God will either teach you or lead you to the right place to find the solution. 

When I was painting portraits, I had no idea what to do sometimes so I would pray and then know what color blends and techniques to use. 

Trust God and He will guide you into the best home business idea or ideas for you.
 

Let Your Creativity Flow For Your Home Business Idea

If you're having difficulty finding a home business idea, I have one for you to get started that will eventually lead you in the right direction.  Once you get your creativity flowing, one idea after another will come to you. So you can begin this idea to begin your research. 

Begin by getting out your pen to get your creative juices flowing. You can begin with a home writing business idea. 

Pick a subject you know something about and begin writing about it to see if you enjoy it. Also, it may lead you to other ideas and interests. You'd be surprised at what the "power of the pen" can bring you. 

I guarantee you'll receive your best ideas once you take a step toward your research. It may not be "the" step for you, but it's a beginning. 

If you never get started, you'll always be dreaming about what you desire instead of doing it. Normally life doesn't hand over your dreams to you. You have to nurture them in order to bring them into being.
