Praying For Money Can Be Difficult For Many Christians

Praying For Money

Praying for money is difficult for many Christians and for many reasons, but the root lies in the fact that they are suffering from a "guilt complex" before God that ultimately leads to having doubt that God will ever answer their prayers.

Christians find it difficult to get the money they are heir to through Jesus Christ because they are not taught to trust God for their money and develop the faith to believe that God is their provider.  

For this reason when Christians turn to God for help with financial burdens, they don't have the faith to believe that God will provide the help they need.  Instead they cling to the fear that God will not answer them.

This causes Christians to give up on God and prayer and instead turn to themselves and the world's system to provide the money they need.  Doing this usually leads to working harder and getting more in debt or behind in money commitments as well as losing out on future financial growth which should be steadily increasing.

Many of the Christians who speak to me or write about needing money, express the desire for a "quick fix" over their situations rather than wanting to develop faith or trust in God.  They don't want to develop a relationship with God, so praying for money seems like an impossible task. They feel desperate and just want to obtain the money they need.  But did you know that this attitude only perpetuates more debt or financial lack?

Even when we receive money out of desperation, it causes us to feel helpless and only emphasizes our lack of money rather than the financial prosperity we are promised through Jesus Christ who set us free from the bondage of poverty and debt.   

Developing a relationship with God through Jesus Christ in the midst of even extreme financial difficulty will give us the confidence to go to Him as our Heavenly Father and ask for money or whatever we need, knowing that we will receive.

This is the same process as a loving parent with their child.  Children expect their parents to supply their need. And parents do their best to give to their children in ways that will benefit their lives, make them happy, fulfilled and abundantly blessed.

God, as our creator, can create whatever it is that we want or need.  So we must develop a relationship with Him, as a loving parent first, before we ask Him for money in order to block all fear and doubt from our minds that He won't give us what we ask.  

Look at God today as your Heavently Father, your "Dad." Talk to Him as you would a father.  Read His loving Words in the Bible and pray to Him in thankfulness for being the most awesome God!!! Then praying for money will become natural when you need help.
