First we look at why this time is so important and so exciting. Our Father discusses not just why we need to do this, but also the fact that the Lord Himself has done everything He can to make having a close relationship with Him possible. 

Our Failures candidly talks about some common pitfalls and distractions that prevent us from a quality relationship with God. 

Next, Our Fruit is basically a mini Bible study of the Parable of the Sower. In this section we will learn about the fruits of spending time with the Lord.  Our Fruit is both inspiring and sobering. 

In the following section, Our Focus, we relay some very tangible ways to get the most out of our time with the Lord of Glory.

Finally in the last section, Our Field, we teach how to pass this knowledge onto others who may be in our field of view and in our sphere of influence. We become equipped to teach others in our own words how to experience Quiet Time.

As in all the Ezra 710 Discipleship Series publications, you will be informed, you will be given ways to practice this new knowledge and you will be equipped to teach others what you have just learned.

What a pleasure it was to read, Quiet Time, a part of the Ezra 710 Design For Discipleship Series.  Quiet time, as described in the book, is the time we spend alone with God to receive His peace, encouragement and guidance.  This is "the" message we need in this day!

I can't count how often I have heard the Lord telling me that Christians would receive infinite blessings, their problems turned into situations of victory and their lives given to untold fulfillment if they would just give Him the first fruits of their day.  It's not enough to give our tithes and offerings, God needs our undivided attention, and Quiet Time tells us just how we should do that according to God's Word. 

God is looking for men and women of commitment to His Word to give their lives to the spreading the Gospel.  He isn't asking that we all leave our families, pull up stakes and travel the world in an evangelical endeavor.  He expects us to minister from where we are in the moment.  As we look to God for guidance, He will show us where to go and what to do specifically with our gifts, talents and experience.  He will make the dreams He put into our hearts at salvation come alive!   It's a process of learning, which is what the Ezra 710 Design For Discipleship Series is all about.  

Quiet Time brings such clarity to the hymn I had sung for so many years in my childhood church, "The Tie That Binds" by John Fawcett.  It's message is clear that if we do not stray too far from God and His ways, we will have a relationship with Him that will set us above those things which try to pull us down and keep us defeated.  And our lives will be filled with blessings!

This part of the Ezra 710 Design For Discipleship Series, takes us through five important stages of growth that many times are not covered in our churches.  The information given is invaluable for all stages of Christianity. So many times Christians ask me why they are not receiving the blessings they need. The answer to that question is found clearly written within the easy flowing text that even new Christians can understand and relate their lives to.  

Keeping with the simplicity of God's Word, the reader is shown the fruits of the spirit and how they can be used to make the character changes needed to become mighty men and women of God, prepared for all Godly service.   

If you're a Christian who has gotten off the path of Jesus Christ, this book will give you God's love and forgiveness while it shows you how to get started again on the right foot with God.  For those who are new to their salvation, they can begin their journey with God on the right foot, learning how not to lose their way.  

And for those Christians who feel right with God, but don't know how to serve Him, I've got great news!  Quiet Time will teach you how to know God and make Him known to others.  We need more such books!  I'm so thankful "Quiet Time, Setting Our Heart On God" is only one part of this God inspired series.
